APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />001 -041 a. May 14, 2012 <br />4. PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Board of Adjustment pledges to the citizens of Orange County its <br />respect. The Board asks its citizens to conduct themselves in a <br />respectful, courteous manner, both with the Board and with fellow <br />citizens. At any time should any member of the Board or any citizen <br />fail to observe this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending <br />person to leave the meeting until that individual regains personal <br />control. Should decorum fail to be restored, the Chair will recess the <br />meeting until such time that a genuine commitment to this public charge <br />is observed. All electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, and <br />computers should please be turned off or set to silent /vibrate. <br />042-135 S. A -3 -12 — Appeal of a Decision Made by the Zoning <br />Officer Submitted by Clifford Leath <br />In accordance with the provisions of the Orange County UDO, the applicant has appealed a <br />decision of the Zoning Officer related to the approval of a site plan and the issuance of a <br />Zoning Compliance Permit to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) allowing <br />for the expansion of a research facility located at 1907 Orange Chapel Clover Garden Road <br />(PIN 9728 -93- 1820). <br />The applicant alleges the aforementioned research facility is required, per Section 3.3 <br />Residential Districts — Agricultural Residential Base Zoning District — Specific Development <br />Standards of the UDO, to apply for and receive a Class A Special Use Permit to allow for <br />the development of a `wastewater treatment facilities with a design capacity of 3,000 gallons <br />per day or more'. The research facility is supported by a septic system that has a design <br />capacity to treat over 3,000 gallons of wastewater per day. <br />
