CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS <br /> Dr. Ives called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Rosemary Summers introduced the staff present. <br /> <br />II. ADOPTION OF AGENDA (July 22, 1999) AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES (June 24, 1999) <br /> <br />A. APPROVE AGENDA (July 22, 1999) and MINUTES (June 24, 1999) <br />The agenda of July 22, 1999 was approved. <br /> <br />The motion to approve the July 22, 1999 agenda was made by Beverly Foster, seconded <br />by Jonathan Klein and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />The minutes of June 24, 1999 were approved. <br /> <br />The motion to approve the minutes of June 24, 1999 as stated above was made by Barry <br />Adler, seconded by Ron Cammarata and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />III. HEALTH DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br /> <br />A. NC HEALTH CHOICE <br />Orange County is at 88% enrollment with only 57 children left to “find” to be at the State’s 100% <br />level. Michele Easter, an Americorp volunteer with Interfaith Council, wrote and received a <br />grant to purchase materials to support outreach at the Buckhorn Flea Market with the Latino <br />population. Cathy Ferniany, the Health Department Health Check Coordinator, will be <br />coordinating with Ms. Easter. The Health Department will be distributing flyers at all Orange <br />County Schools for the first days of school. The State will facilitate a re-enrollment process for <br />those already enrolled and due to be re-enrolled beginning October 1. The dental benefits bill <br />did pass the legislature and became available for clients July 1. <br /> <br />
