<br />THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MET ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2000 AT THE
<br />SOUTHERN HUMAN SERVICES CENTER IN CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA.

<br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS PRESENT: Jonathan Klein, Barry Adler, Rick Marinshaw, Ron
<br />Cammarata, Mel Hurston, Lee Werley, Alan Rimer.
<br />
<br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS ABSENT: Barry Jacobs, Janet Southerland, Martha Stucker, and
<br />Brenda Crowder-Gaines
<br />
<br />STAFF PRESENT: Rosemary Summers, Health Director; Ron Holdway, Environmental Health Division
<br />Director; Kathy Glassock, Interim Personal Health Division Director; John Sauls, Animal Control

<br />I. Welcome and Introductions
<br />
<br /> Jonathan Klein called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. and introduced the staff present.
<br />
<br /> Dr. Jonathan Klein, Chair of the Board, presented Rick Marinshaw a plaque from the Board of Health
<br />for 11 years of service to the Orange County Board of Health. The Board expressed appreciation for
<br />his leadership and dedication.
<br />
<br />II. Action Items
<br />
<br />A. Swearing in of Alan Rimer
<br />
<br /> Joan Terry, Clerk of Superior Court, officiated at the swearing in of Alan E. Rimer, newly
<br />appointed Board of Health member replacing Rick Marinshaw.
<br />
<br />B. Approval of September 28, 2000 Agenda
<br />
<br />The Agenda was amended to delete Item IV A.2, Environmental Health Fee Schedule Review.
<br />This will be reviewed at a subsequent meeting.
<br />
<br />Motion to approve the Agenda of September 28, 2000, as amended, was made by Mel Hurston,
<br />seconded by Barry Adler and carried without dissent.
<br />
<br /> Minutes Approval of August 24, 2000 meeting
<br />
<br />Motion to approve the Minutes of the August 24, 2000 Board of Health meeting was made by Lee
<br />Werley, seconded by Barry Adler and carried without dissent.
