Anne Miles 1 November 15, 2001 <br />ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT: To enhance the quality of <br />life, promote the health, and preserve the environment for all people in the Orange County <br />community. <br /> <br />THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MET ON November 15, 2001 at the OWASA <br />Community Meeting Room in Carrboro, North Carolina. <br /> <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS PRESENT: Jonathan Klein, Chair; Janet Southerland, Vice <br />Chair; Barry Adler, Mel Hurston, Alan Rimer, Martha Stucker, Sharon Van Horn, Lee <br />Werley, and Kate Wilder. <br /> <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS ABSENT: Barry Jacobs, due to a conflict in meeting <br />schedules; Alice White <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Rosemary Summers, Health Director; Wayne Sherman, Personal Health <br />Services Division Director; Angela Cooke, Dental Health Services Division Director; Ron <br />Holdway, Environmental Health Services Division Director; Anne Miles, Administrative <br />Assistant. <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Sarah A. Ricks, UNC nursing student; Kimberly M. Russell, UNC nursing <br />student. <br /> <br />I. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS <br /> <br />Jonathan Klein called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and introduced the guests <br />present. <br /> <br />II. APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 15 AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion to approve the November 15 Agenda was made by Martha Stucker, <br />seconded by Mel Hurston, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />III. PUBLIC COMMENT FOR ITEMS NOT ON PRINTED AGENDA <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />IV. ACTION ITEMS ON CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />A. Minutes Approval of October 25, 2001 Meeting <br /> <br /> B. Adoption of 2002 Meeting Calendar <br /> <br />Motion to accept the Consent Agenda was made by Kate Wilder, seconded by Mel <br />Hurston, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />V.
