MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />April 26, 2001 <br />Board of Health Minutes Transcription completed by V. Anne Miles 4 April 26, 2001 <br />The West Nile Virus Response Plan and the educational materials are on the Orange <br />County Health Department web site. <br /> <br />V. BOARD COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. School Nurse <br /> <br />At the joint meeting between the BOCC, Health Department and the School Boards, and <br />the Commissioners a Four Year Option Plan was presented. No action has been taken <br />at this time. The Orange County Schools are asking for parity funding of school nurses <br />in addition to approval of additional county funded nurses. It will be included in the <br />proposed budget for the Commissioners to consider as it goes through the budget <br />process. <br /> <br />B. BOCC Public Health Proclamation <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners passed the Public Health Month Proclamation at <br />their last meeting. April has been a very active community event month for the Health <br />Department <br /> <br />C. Orange County Health Report Card <br /> <br />The newest draft of the Health Report Card will be reviewed by the Healthy Carolinians <br />Executive Committee at their next meeting, May 7. Alice White has helped refine the <br />statistical data and presentation of that data. <br /> <br />D. Announcements <br /> <br />Jonathan Klein announced that on March 26, Orange County Health Director, Rosemary <br />Summers, received the Arnold D. Kaluzny Distinguished Alumni Award from the <br />Leadership Program at the UNC School of Public Health. <br /> <br />Barry Jacobs presented Board of Health members with a mug as a token of appreciation <br />from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in recognition of Volunteer <br />Appreciation Month. <br /> <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Martha Stucker, seconded by Barry Adler, <br />and passed without dissent. <br /> <br />The next Board of Health meeting will be held on May 17, 2001 at the Southern Human Services <br />Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, at 7:30 PM. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Rosemary L.
