Anne Miles 1 March 22, 2001 <br />ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT: To enhance the quality of life, <br />promote the health, and preserve the environment for all people in the Orange County community. <br /> <br />THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MET ON THURSDAY, March 22, 2001 at the Government <br />Services Center in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS PRESENT: Jonathan Klein, Janet Southerland, Mel Hurston, Barry <br />Jacobs, Alan Rimer, Martha Stucker, Sharon Van Horn, Lee Werley, Kate Wilder, and Alice White. <br /> <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS ABSENT: Barry Adler <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Rosemary Summers, Health Director; Wayne Sherman, Personal Health Services <br />Division Director; John Sauls, Animal Control Services Division Director; Donna King, Education and <br />Nutritional Services Division Director; Leticia Burns, Administrative Services Division Director; <br />Ellen Young, Healthy Carolinians Coordinator; V. Anne Miles, Administrative Assistant. <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Mary Beck, Chair of the Healthy Carolinians of Orange County Council. <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Dr. Jonathan Klein at 7:30 p.m. and guests were <br />introduced. <br /> <br />II. ACTION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Approval of March 22, 2001 Agenda <br /> <br />Martha Stucker requested that an update to L & W Mobile Home Park be added to the <br />agenda as Item D.6. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the March 22, 2001 agenda as amended was made by Alan Rimer, <br />seconded by Sharon Van Horn, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />B. Minutes Approval of February 22, 2001 <br /> <br />Correction to the minutes on page 2, deletion of the word “increases” at the end of the <br />third sentence of the fourth paragraph of Item IV A. Insert the phrase “There are also” <br />at the beginning of the second sentence of Item IV A, page 3 under the topic <br />Environmental Health. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the minutes of February 22, 2001 as amended, was made by <br />Janet Southerland, seconded by Lee Werley and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />III.
