Healthy Carolinians Recertification <br /> <br />Rosemary Summers reported that the Governor’s Task Force Committee for Certification- <br />Recertification recently met for review of Healthy Carolinians of Orange County’s <br />application for recertification and approved the application. The Recertification Award <br />was presented to Healthy Carolinians of Orange County on October 8th at the Annual <br />Healthy Carolinians Conference in Greensboro. <br /> <br />3. Child Fatality Prevention Team/Community Child Protection Team Annual Report <br /> <br />The Child Fatality Prevention Team’s charge is to review the records of all child fatalities <br />in the county. Community Child Protection Teams (CCPT) were established with the <br />mandate to review selected active cases in which children are being served by child <br />protection services. Both teams are required by statute to submit an annual report to <br />the Board of County Commissioners with any recommendations and to advocate for <br />system improvements and needed resources where gaps and deficiencies may exist. A <br />copy of this report was distributed to board members for informational purposes. <br /> <br />4. Annual “Give Kids a Smile” Program <br /> <br />Angela Cooke gave an update to the Board of the “Give Kids a Smile Program”. <br /> <br />5. Report on Board Chairs Meeting <br /> <br />Alice White reported on the meeting between the Board of County Commissioners and <br />board chairs of all Orange County services that are overseen by the Commissioners. The <br />meeting was held to establish a more proficient working relationship between all parties. <br /> <br />VI. Board Comments/Announcements <br /> <br />Rosemary Summers announced the selection of Jack Ball by the County for the Emergency <br />Management Director position. <br /> <br />Motion to move to Closed Session was made by Kate Wilder, seconded by Matt Vizithum, and carried <br />without dissent. <br /> <br />VII. Closed Session (ref. NCGS 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, <br />fitness, conditions of appointment, of an individual public officer or employee. <br /> <br />Motion to move out of Closed Session was made by Kate Wilder, seconded by Jessica Lee and carried <br />without dissent. <br /> <br />VIII. Adjournment <br /> <br />Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Kate Wilder, seconded by Matt Vizithum, and carried
