Reports and Discussion with Possible Action <br /> <br />A. Capital Improvement Budget Requests <br /> <br />Each year departments are asked to submit capital improvement requests to the budget <br />staff in preparation for countywide development of a capital improvement plan. The <br />health department management staff is currently in the process of developing the items <br />to be requested. The request will include vehicles, information technology items, major <br />equipment and building projects. <br /> <br />In the past two years, there have been very few capital request items approved by the <br />commissioners. The department is beginning to experience a backlog of needed items. <br /> <br />The Board received a summary spreadsheet of these requests for informational purposes. <br /> <br />B. Personnel Budget Requests <br /> <br />Traditionally new staff requests have been due in December for budget consideration. <br />This year, the County Manager has indicated that he will not be considering new <br />positions as a rule. The Department is not submitting any new positions, but is <br />submitting increases in time and duty changes for a few positions that are already in <br />existence.
