Continuation Funds for Teen Tobacco Prevention <br /> <br />A 3-year continuation grant for the Teen Tobacco Prevention program was <br />received. The Department is still recruiting for the position to coordinate this <br />program. Applications from several good candidates have been received and <br />the position should be filled soon. <br /> <br />d. Employer Wellness Forums <br /> <br />The Wellness Forums for employers is an initiative that the Healthy <br />Carolinians along with Chambers of Commerce at both ends of the county <br />have taken on. They are sponsoring two forums in March for employers to <br />help them adopt measures to increase employee health and have a healthier <br />workforce. <br /> <br />E. Tracking Form Review <br /> <br />Dr. Summers requested another volunteer from the Board to work with Sharon <br />Freeland, Maria Hitt and the Health Director to discuss the Community Awards, <br />which are scheduled for the Spring. This is an effort by the Department and <br />Board to recognize people and agencies in the community for their contributions <br />to public health. Sharon Van Horn volunteered to work on this committee. <br /> <br />F. Meeting dates for May and June <br /> <br />The Board of Health has traditionally met on the fourth Thursday of each month <br />with the exception of November and December meetings that are held on the <br />third Thursdays due to the holidays. Due to a date conflict with meetings <br />scheduled by the Board of County Commissioners, it is necessary to reschedule <br />Board of Health meetings for May and June. Board members discussed and <br />agreed on Wednesday, May 24, and Thursday, June 29. <br /> <br />Motion to amend the meeting schedule to reflect May 24 and June 29 as scheduled <br />meeting dates was made by Chris Harlan, seconded by Matt Vizithum, and carried <br />without dissent. <br /> <br />VI.
