MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />January 21, 2009 <br />Board of Health Minutes Transcription completed by Anne Miles Cassell 6 January 21, 2009 <br />d. Child Health Report Card: The report card prepared by North Carolina <br />Institute of Medicine and Action for Children North Carolina was provided as <br />information to the Board. <br /> <br />e. State Health Director Resignation: Leah Devlin, the State Health Director is <br />retiring as of January 31. This will be a time of transition at the state in a <br />difficult budgetary climate. Regionally, the Wake County Health Director is <br />moving to the slot open in Buncombe County, and the Durham County <br />Health Director is retiring in the next month or so. Alamance County has a <br />new Health Director, a transfer from Davie County. <br /> <br /> D. Pending and Recurring Items Review <br /> <br />The pending and recurring items review allows Board members to plan future agendas <br />and direct the staff on special work items. Two non-recurring agenda items have been <br />added for either December or January. Several items were flagged as either being on <br />this agenda or on the meeting agenda for next month. <br /> <br /> E. NACCHO Grant Funding <br /> <br />Rosemary Summers reported that grant funding of $5000 has been received from <br />NACCHO. The award money will be used for emergency preparedness. A budget <br />amendment will be submitted to reflect this funding. <br /> <br />V. Board Comments <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />VI.
