HIS is the current <br />system (health information system) NCHIS state required. <br />• No trend reporting <br />• Few updates <br />• Impact- drop in revenue <br />• Never fixed, always fixing it <br />• Can't use for strategizing (service model not strategy model) <br />We got 50 different hospital software systems; we chose the top 5 and narrowed <br />down to the top 3. <br /> <br />Did surveys and demos with staff <br />Patagonia: Major Factors <br /> <br />• Most important- whether system can coordinate with state (in order to <br />apply for certain money) <br />• Has 7 or 8 counties already- they are educated already in public health <br />• Scheduling works better <br />• Functionality <br />• Local company <br />• They want to get into public health <br />• Growing coalition of public health depts. <br />• They are excited about some of the design pieces Mike has worked on <br />• Costs: subscription model (new trend) pay a smaller amount monthly and we <br />can stop at any time <br />• Federal government. has money set aside for those who use electronic records/offsets cost <br />• Should get a check for $60,000+ from government. <br />• Billing at 40-70% of capacity now- increased revenue with Patagonia <br />• More efficient billing
