Reports and Discussion with Possible Action <br /> <br />A. Gap Analysis Final Presentation <br /> <br />As a follow-up to Part 1covering the Health literacy portion of the Access to Care <br />Gap analysis presented in September. <br /> <br /> We got community perspective by conducting a survey <br /> <br />11 different service provider categories were used; 58% response rate from the <br />survey. <br /> <br /> <br />B. Child And Family Obesity sub-committee report <br /> <br />We have started on the 24 recommended national strategies, staff reviewed and <br />came up with 5 BOH county strategies, presented to childhood obesity BOH sub- <br />committee. BOH liked all suggestions. We broke into policy and program and <br />looked at ones we wanted to do now, those we want to explore and those we <br />want to defer. <br /> <br />Dr. Bridger reviewed policy and program obesity strategies <br /> <br />1. Work with Sportsplex- take french fries off menu and offer more healthy <br />options. Target date is 2014 but may be able to get done earlier. <br />2. Work with billboard companies to limit types of ads they display around <br /> Schools and influence them not to put up McDonalds's ads around schools.
