MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />May 22, 2013 <br />Board of Health Minutes Transcription completed by Lisa Smith May 22, 2013 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Motion to approve Consent Agenda was made by Tony Whitaker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Pelissier, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />V. Action Items (Non-Consent) <br /> <br />A. Environmental Health Write-Off of Delinquent and Uncollectable Accounts <br /> <br />Motion to request approval to move $3,830 in uncollectable Environmental Health <br />accounts from “active” to “inactive” status was made by Susan Elmore, <br />seconded by Liska Lackey, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />B. Board Terms of Service <br /> <br />Motion to have Mathew Kelm, Dr. Carol Haggerty, and Dr. Paul Chelminski to be <br />reappointed to an additional term of service for the period July 2013-June 30, <br />2016 was made by Michael Wood, seconded by Susan Elmore, and carried <br />without dissent. <br /> <br />VI. Educational Sessions <br /> <br />Potential Benefit of Physical Activity Food Labeling- Time for Local Action- <br />Dr. Anthony Viera <br />See attached PowerPoint <br /> <br />Bills of Interest in the General Assembly- Dr. Colleen Bridger <br /> <br />Dr. Bridger went over some bills in the general assembly that were up for consideration <br />that the Health Department should keep an eye on and she will send some talking <br />points and who to contact. None of these have reached a level of resolution yet from the <br />Board of Health. <br />• The helmet law passed crossover and would allow anyone over the age of 18 to <br />not be required to wear a helmet. <br />• Bill 703 did not make crossover and would limit local regulations for outside <br />smoking. <br />• Bill 132 requires teachers to talk to students about abortion. <br /> <br />VII.
