MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />November 20, 2013 <br />S:\Managers Working Files\BOH\Agenda & Abstracts\2014 Agenda & Abstracts/Jan Page 3 <br /> <br />has worked there since February of 2012. He also works as a consult psychiatrist at <br />Rex Hospital. Prior to working at Cardinal Innovations, Dr. McCoy served as the Interim <br />Medical Director for the Wake County LME (local management entity). His medical <br />school and residency training were both at UNC-Chapel Hill. <br /> <br />Gary Rosson, PhD <br />Gary Rosson has been a cancer researcher at UNC Lineberger Cancer Center for the <br />last 13 years. Currently, he is the Lab Manager for a research project that uses next <br />generation sequencing to screen cancer patients for genetic mutations. This <br />information can then be passed to a patient’s oncologist for person alized treatment <br />decisions. <br /> <br />Maria Dover, MS, LMFT <br />Maria Dover is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. During her training, Maria <br />worked as an integrated behavioral health clinician on a palliative care team at Vidant <br />Hospital. She also was the integrated behavioral health clinician in a community health <br />center in Eastern Carolina. <br /> <br />Maria is currently the Pediatric Program Manager for the CHIPRA grant at the North <br />Carolina Center of Excellence for Integrated Care. She works with pediatric providers <br />across the state to improve the preventative care they provide in addition to building a <br />more integrated model in their practice. <br /> <br />VII. Reports and Discussion with Possible Action <br /> <br />A. Communicable Disease Annual Report <br /> <br />Sue Rankin reviewed highlights from the 2012-2013 Communicable Disease <br />Annual Report noting Pertussis as being the largest outbreak for that time period. <br />The volume did not meet requirements for CDC involvement, however the number <br />of cases were up for the reporting period. Ms. Rankin also noted a slight increase <br />in the number of rabies cases as well as an increase in Norovirus. <br /> <br />B. 2014 Board of Health Schedule <br /> <br />Motion was made by Michael Wood to approve the 2014 Board of Health <br />Schedule, seconded by Paul Chelminski and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />C. Board of Health Policies and Procedures <br /> <br />Motion was made by Paul Chelminski to approve the Board of Health Policy and <br />Procedure changes, seconded by Matt Carstens and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />D. Elections (Chair and Vice-Chair) <br />
