Innovation Grant Update <br /> <br />Meredith Stewart provided updates on the progress to date of the 2014 Innovation <br />Grant Cycle. Each year staff submitted innovative proposals to provide better care, <br />better health, and reduce healthcare cost for Orange County residents. The 2014 cycle <br />funded eight projects totaling $19,779.16. Highlights: Sit stand desks, oven for <br />Sportsplex, mobile technology/tablets, garden enhancements, space design, and <br />speaker’s series. <br /> <br />VII. Reports and Discussion with Possible Action <br /> <br />A. Lactation Resolution <br /> <br />Anna Spier, Temporary Program Assistant, presented an overview on the benefits of <br />breast-feeding and a recommendation for a comprehensive lactation program for <br />Orange County employees including; dedicated lactation spaces, flexible time options <br />and education resources. The Board was asked to consider a resolution expressing the <br />Board of Health’s support of breastfeeding and for enacting a workplace lactation <br />program and policy for Orange County employees. <br /> <br />Note: Liska Lackey had to leave the meeting early so no action could be taken <br />due to lack of quorum. Resolution will be voted on by email. <br /> <br />B. Committee to Select new BOH Member <br /> <br />Chairperson Corey Davis requested a small number of volunteers to be on a selection <br />committee to review and go through applications and bring recommendations to the <br />August BOH meeting. <br /> <br />Corey Davis, Nick Galvez and Sam Lasris volunteered. <br />
