Action Items (Consent) <br /> <br />A. Minutes Approval of April 23, 2014 Meeting <br /> <br />Motion was made by Sam Lasris to approve the April 23, 2014 meeting minutes, <br />seconded by Michael Wood and carried without dissent. <br /> <br /> <br />B. Appointment of Representative to Orange County Child Poverty Council <br /> <br />Tony Whitaker reported; The OCHD proposes to lead a collective impact model, <br />adapted from the Harlem Children’s Zone and similar interventions. The oversight body, <br />the Orange County Child Poverty Council will bring together collaborative partners to <br />define a common agenda and goals. The BOCC has asked the BOH to appoint a <br />representative. <br /> <br />Motion from the Access to Care subcommittee that Liska Lackey be appointed as <br />the Board of Health representative to the Orange County Child Poverty Council <br />(OCCPC), no second needed, and carried without dissent. <br /> <br />V. Action Items (non consent) <br /> <br />A. Strategic Plan Approval <br /> <br />Subcommittee representatives provided their recommended focus areas and action <br />steps for inclusion in the 2014-2016 Board of Health Strategic Plan. The <br />recommendations were formed with guidance from the 2011 Community Health <br />Assessment, currently available primary and secondary health data, and input from staff <br />and Board subcommittees. <br /> <br />The BOH members discussed each subcommittee’s focus areas and action steps and <br />made minor comments on language, which staff will incorporate in the plan. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Sam Lasris to approve as amended the 2014-2016 Board of <br />Health Strategic Plan, seconded by Nick Galvez and carried without dissent. <br /> <br /> <br />VI. Educational Sessions <br /> <br />A. Parks & Rec Master Plan Review <br /> <br /> <br />David Stancil, DEAPR Director of the Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks <br />and Recreation provided a summary on the key points of the plan and areas of interest <br />to the Board of Health.
