Health Director Report <br /> <br />In addition to her report, Dr. Cilenti stated that she will be participating in an upcoming meeting <br />that will include UNC, the county manager, Dr. Mike Steiner, past FSA chair, in which part of the <br />discussion involves the commitment to behavioral health services, particularly for those ages 0- <br />25. Dr. Cilenti also mentioned that she and Dr. Steiner will be meeting next week to explore <br />opportunities for our health department to work together with UNC to address the needs of <br />children in Orange County. <br /> <br />Dr. Cilenti will be a part of the search committee for a new Associate Vice Chancellor that will <br />oversee their student health and wellness program. UNC wants her to represent the OCHD to <br />get a community perspective. <br /> <br />Dr. Cilenti stated that, although the requested position was not granted, the OCHD will be <br />helping prepare the scope of work and providing leadership for the behavioral health position. <br />Interviews will most likely occur in September. <br /> <br />Dr. Cilent announced that Dr. Bruce Baldwin has been appointed by the BOCC to the BOH and <br />congratulated all of the reappointments that were approved by the BOCC. Lastly, she <br />mentioned that she, along with Alan Clapp, Rebecca Crawford, met with OWASA’s leadership, <br />took a tour and saw how raw water becomes drinking water. A letter of support to continue <br />fluoridation of water was also offered. OWASA will resume fluoridation of water as soon as their <br />equipment improvements are completed. <br /> <br />C. Media Items <br /> <br />Media items were in the packet which focused on Orange County’s events and our <br />involvement in various efforts. <br /> <br />At 8:15pm, Sam Lasris motioned to move into closed session and Jessica Frega <br />seconded. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII. Closed Session to Discuss Health Director Recruitment <br /> <br />During the closed session, the Board of Health discussed the recruitment process with Mr. <br />Ozuna and Ms. Bartholomew. <br />
