Final Campaign Logo Options <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 6.a. <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Abigaile Pittman, Transportation /Land <br />Use Planner, 919 - 245 -2567 <br />PURPOSE: Receive a report on the activities of the Bicycle Safety Implementation <br />Subcommittee <br />BACKGROUND: The subcommittee met several times during November and December, and <br />earlier today. <br />Highlights of our work include: <br />• Production of Campaign Videos - Through the auspices of Peter Leousis, whose son is a <br />student there, we have secured the video club at Cedar Ridge High School to storyboard, <br />shoot, and edit our videos featuring notable people in the community. Art, Abigaile, and <br />Heidi met with the club in early December. We shall provide funding for this work since <br />the club will need to rent audio and video equipment to shoot and record at the quality we <br />need. Heidi has drafted excellent scenarios for the videos. The students have presented <br />four storyboards for our review. Sheriff Blackwood, Chief of Police Duane Hampton and <br />Mayor Tom Stevens have agreed to participate. Commissioner Renee Price has agreed <br />to participate and Commissioner Earl McKee has also been approached and is <br />considering the request. We need further outreach to potential participants. We are <br />coordinating with NCDOT for the use of a public road to film the videos on two weekend <br />days in late March and early April. <br />• Campaign Logo and Marketing Survey — With the release of a survey on January 31, we <br />have reached the final stage of testing potential logos for our work representing our Ride <br />Safely, Drive Safely theme. The final logo should be decided by the time of the <br />OUTBoard meeting. <br />• Campaign Website - We have decided on the desired content and menu system for the <br />campaign website working with county staff. Art Menius will design the site with <br />WordPress, with content populated by the subcommittee members. The site will be linked <br />to the county's website. <br />21 <br />
