Item 5.a. <br />Bicycle Safety Implementation Subcommittee Report <br />By Art Menius (1/8/2018) <br />The subcommittee met several times during November and December. <br />Highlights of our work: <br />Through the auspices of Peter Leousis, whose son is a student there, we have secured <br />the video club at Cedar Ridge High School to storyboard, shoot, and edit our videos <br />featuring notable people in the community. Art, Abigaile, and Heidi met with the club in <br />early December. We shall provide some funding for this work at the club will need to <br />rent some audio and video equipment to shoot and record at the quality we need. Heidi <br />has drafted excellent scenarios for the videos. We need further outreach to potential <br />participants. <br />We are reaching the final stages of testing potential logos for our work tied to our Ride <br />Safely, Drive Safely theme <br />We have decided on the desired content and menu system for the campaign website <br />working with county staff. We need to resolve whether county staff will design the site <br />with the committee populating the content (the chair's preference) or county staff will do <br />all of it. The latter would produce a delay in getting the site live. <br />We have discussed a timeline and subsequent budget decisions, but have not <br />completed that work. <br />We have preliminary permission to place our signs on NDDOT right of way, but we may <br />not post on the same support as their signs. <br />11 <br />
