ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: December 4, 2006 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. - i <br />SUBJECT Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2007 <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT (S): <br />NO <br />I INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Baker, 245-2130 <br />Clerk to the Board <br />PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br />for year 2007. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br />the Regular Meeting Schedule. <br />The Board will .consider amending its regular meeting schedule for 2007 by adding a meeting <br />on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Southern Human Services Center from 7:OOpm-9:OOpm. <br />The BOCC and the following Element Lead Advisory Boards will be invited to attend: Affordable <br />Housing Advisory Board, Agricultural Preservation Board, Commission for the Environment, <br />Economic Development Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Orange Unified <br />Transportation Board, and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council. <br />The meeting will be hosted by the Orange. County Planning Board and pending contract <br />authorization at the December 4th BOCC Meeting,. Mr. Andy Sachs of the Dispute Settlement <br />Center will be providing- meeting facilitation services. Staff support will be provided by the <br />Planning Department. <br />This meeting will serve as a "kick-off" among the advisory boards for their participation in the <br />process and may be used to: <br />--Review the timetable for project completion <br />--Share the role of the Dispute Settlement Center in the process <br />--Share Planning Board's Draft Purpose and Scope for the Comprehensive Plan <br />--Share Planning Board's Draft Table of Contents for the Comprehensive Plan <br />--Share ideas for use of a "Synthesizing" consultant <br />
