0 <br />Attachment B <br />ORANGE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION <br />PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br />This is to inform the public of the opportunity to attend a public hearing on the proposed <br />FY 2007/2008 Community Transportation Program Application to be submitted to the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than November 16, 2006. Those <br />interested in attending a public hearing on this application should contact Mr. Jerry <br />Passmore at 919-245-2009 on or before November 14, 2006. The public hearing will be <br />held on November 14, 2006 at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead <br />Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 at 7:30 p.m. before the Board of County Commissioners. <br />The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing <br />transportation programs operating in rural Orange County as well as provides <br />transportation options and services for the communities within the service area. These <br />services are currently provided using fixed route, fixed deviated routes, demand response <br />routes, subscription routes, and contractual agreements with local Human Service <br />agencies. Services are rendered by Orange Public Transportation utilizing lift equipped <br />small transit busses and lift equipped vans. <br />The total estimated amount requested for the period July 2007 through June 2008 is as <br />follows: <br />Proiect Total Amount Local Share <br />Administrative $184,781 $27,718 <br />Capital (Vehicles) $244,650 $24,465 <br />TOTAL $429,431 $52,183 <br />This application may be inspected at 600 Highway 86 North, Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 <br />Orange Public Transportation Building from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through <br />Friday. Written comments should be directed to Mr. Jerry Passmore, P.O. Box 8181, <br />Hillsborough, N.C. 27278 before November 14, 2006. <br />
