My time as a business owner and my service on the water and server advisory task force
and committee helped me gain an appreciation of how growth can be influenced by a wide range
of factors including the availability of resources needed to nurture, support and enhance growth
within the community.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I have a long history of public service and as a lifetime resident in Orange County I feel I have an
obligation to be a part of the process responsible for shaping its long term strategy and vision. I
am hoping to gain a better understanding of how the planning and development process works.
Conflict of Interest:
Orange County Planning Board (REQUIRES DISCLOSURE STATEMENT)
Please list the work/volunteer experience/qualifications that would add to your expertise
for this board.
State Employee’ Credit Union Advisory Committee
Committee Chair
2013-Present
Hillsborough Mayoral Election
Mayoral Candidate
2001
Hillsborough Water and Sewer Advisory
Committee 2000-2005
Committee Chair, Town Board Liason
Hillsborough Water and Sewer Task Force
1999-2000
Vice-Chair, Authored Final Findings and Recommendations Report
What unique perspective can you bring to the Orange County Planning Board?
As a life-long resident I have quite a bit of history when it comes to the evolution of development
within the county. I understand its people, economy, its natural beauty, as well as many of the
challenges and opportunities residents have living in Orange County.
The planning board probably has a greater opportunity to affect change than most other boards
and organizations. I have a willingness to serve the long range interests of the community and
understand that each decision we make has a long lasting impact.
34
