My PhD in English and subsequent writing are evidence of research and other <br />related skills. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />Hillsborough Academy has given me an in-depth understanding of the workings of the <br />municipality, with some knowledge of its relationship with the county -- and it has inspired me to <br />offer my services. The county will soon have to make major decisions about development, and I <br />would like to contribute. I have spoke with the mayors of both Hillsborough and Chapel Hill about <br />the costs, advantages, and challenges of development, and have a modest understanding of the <br />issues. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />27
