Volunteer Biographies <br />Megan Jones Megan has a developmental disability, but she has not let that slow <br /> her down. Megan's influence is well known in Chapel Hill, she has <br /> represented to Arc at Rotary meetings, and fundraiser and events. <br /> Sheds an ins iration to clients, families and staff. <br />Bert Liverance Bert has shown great leadership and commitment in chairing the <br /> Construction committee for years and for completely running our fire <br /> safety program: He has functioned as an extra staff member with <br /> the s rinklers, takin full res onsibilit for installation <br />Judy Lohman For 13 years Judy has served the Ronald McDonald House with her <br /> time, compassion, and best of all her talent by single-handedly <br /> ublishin the bi-month) volunteer newsletter. <br />Patricia Merriman Many of our volunteers specialize in one type of hospice care; <br /> Patricia does it all. She lovingly supports our community through <br /> hours s ent with our d in nei hoors and their families. <br />Abby Phelps For over. 13 years, Abby has run the front desk at the RMH. Even <br /> with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, Abby drives from Raleigh to <br /> answer phones, write thank you notes, and assist guests and <br /> visitors. <br />Karen Doran Karen has served countless families and children at the Ronald <br /> McDonald House over her 8.5 years of commitment. Karen has put <br /> in countless hours over the years, and it's the understanding and <br /> motivation that she brin s to the RMH services that is award winnin . <br />Mike and Sue Faulkner Mike and Sue work with children, adults, and the elderlyto bring the <br /> communit closer to ether for activities and events. <br />Liz Garman Liz's dedication and love for the shelter dogs is a precious asset. <br /> Her involvement helps to par the 100's of dogs that are adopted with <br /> forever homes. <br />George George Since May 2005 George has donated over 513 hours, 4.5 times as <br /> many as the average volunteer. George soars to great heights by <br /> offerin the hi hest level of services, cou led b a friend) smile. <br />Shelley Golden Since becoming a Community Education Volunteer in 1999, Shelly <br /> has been a central part of the Orange County Rape crisis Centers <br /> effort to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, <br /> education and advocac . <br />Janet and Caroline Long Janet and Caroline are dedicated Shelter volunteers. Their love for <br /> the cats is obvious in their work. <br />Jim Parsley Jim has served as a tutor and reading partner for students at <br /> Cameron Park since 2003. He is a strong advocate for positive and <br /> consistent interaction between students and their communit . <br />Marie Pauwels Marie is a dedicated hard worker. She reports to work early and <br /> stays as long as she is need. Her love for the shelter animals is <br /> evident in her work. <br />Wendy Pease Wendy works with a large percentage of Alzheimer's patients. <br /> Wendy remembers those patients who may be forgotten, advocating <br /> for better care, alerting staff to any problems. She serves as a voice <br /> for those who have lost theirs. She demonstrates by her caring <br /> compassionate presence the lives of those who may seem to have <br /> little value and those inca able of rememberin . <br />Kristin Tucker Kristin humbly claims that she contributes in a small way to a very big <br /> icture, but after raisin over $21,000 in a first time fundraiser, it is <br />
