30 <br />1 Governments meeting. Additional input and comments were gathered as to the creation <br />2 of a comprehensive and coordinated strategy regarding the Mobile Home Park Initiative. <br />3 • January 30, 2018 — The Town of Chapel Hill developed a response strategy for the <br />4 proposed closure of the Lakeview Mobile Home Park and shared that information with <br />5 Orange County staff. <br />6 • February 1, 2018 — County staff learns of the proposed displacement of residents at the <br />7 Homestead Mobile Park located in an unincorporated part of the County outside of <br />8 Chapel Hill. The Homestead Mobile Home Park includes approximately nine (9) homes <br />9 that would be affected by the closure. Staff had a conversation with the Park owner to <br />10 discuss the situation. Conversations with the Park owner will continue throughout the <br />11 process. <br />12 • February 9, 2018 — County staff convened an initial meeting of the Rapid Response <br />13 Team to plan for a community meeting with the Homestead Mobile Home Park <br />14 residents. <br />15 • The County Manager has invited both Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools and Orange <br />16 County Schools to be a part of the Mobile Home Park Work Group and the Rapid <br />17 Response Team. <br />18 • February 24, 2018 — A meeting is planned with the residents of the Homestead Mobile <br />19 Home Park (map) to gather their input and comments, as well as ascertain their needs <br />20 given the proposed displacement. The meeting will be held at the New Hope Camp and <br />21 Conference Center starting at 10:00am- 1:OOpm. <br />22 • County staff continues to conduct due diligence on the Millhouse Road site and other <br />23 identified strategies, including identifying cost centers and gathering applicable pricing <br />24 information. <br />25 • By March 16, 2018, the Rapid Response Team will meet again, debrief on the February <br />26 24th meeting with residents and provide input on the draft proposal to the County <br />27 Manager as it relates to the provision of services for the Homestead Mobile Home Park <br />28 residents. <br />29 • By March 23, 2018 and based on the findings from the February 24th meeting, staff will <br />30 present a proposal, including applicable cost, to the County Manager as it relates to the <br />31 provision of services for the Homestead Mobile Home Park residents. <br />32 • By March 30, 2018, County staff will convene a meeting with mobile home park owners <br />33 within the County. Work Group members and a representative from the Rapid <br />34 Response Team will participate in the meeting. <br />35 • Periodic updates to the Board of County Commissioners will continue throughout the <br />36 process. <br />37 <br />38 Chair Dorosin asked if Sherrill Hampton would update the Board of County <br />39 Commissioners after the February 24th meeting, and after the surveys are completed. <br />40 Commissioner Jacobs said to Sherrill Hampton and Craig Benedict that the vendor from <br />41 the tiny home meeting last night might be a useful source of information to pursue, prior to <br />42 involving a consultant. He said the vendor is Kimberly Brewer. <br />43 Commissioner Marcoplos said he has her contact information. <br />44 Commissioner Rich said she would like to talk about Millhouse Road as a neighborhood, <br />45 instead of an industrial site. She said it is important to include these neighbors into activities <br />46 that are going on in that area. <br />47 8.
