he Cities for ..,, Climate Protec,ti,qn Campa j 12 ji n the Five Milestone Process <br />The Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) campaign is a global project led by the International Council for <br />Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), a membership association of local governments dedicated to <br />addressing global environmental problems through local action. The CCP was established by ICLEI in <br />1993 at an international summit of municipal leaders. The CCP has engaged many municipal <br />governments in North Carolina, the U.S and abroad in a worldwide effort to slow the earth's warming. <br />The CCP campaign follows a 'Five Milestone' process (Figure 1). <br />Figure 1: <br />Cities for Climate Protection Five Milestone Climate Action Planning Process. <br />The size of each circle indicates the relative emphasis in this plan.
