Appendix B discusses the "co- benefits" of climate action and the <br />potential for synergies with other community goals and values such as environmental quality, <br />affordability, social equity, the local economy, and public health. Appendix C presents the <br />relatively new concept of the "social cost of carbon" which indicates that pursuing the scale of <br />greenhouse gas reductions recommended in the CCAP in Carrboro has a multimillion dollar <br />annual implication when linked to global economic consequences. <br />Recommendation <br />It is recommended that the Board of Aldermen receive this staff memorandum. <br />12 <br />
