it r a r) urn e 0 J' ,J: ]"11 1� ,�y" <br />RESOLUTION of APPRECIATION <br />for <br />GARY SAUNDERS <br />WHEREAS, Gary Saunders served as a member of the Orange County <br />Commission for the Environment since January 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, Gary Saunders has contributed to the discussions and initiatives <br />of the Commission during that timeframe with his thoughtful and insightful <br />points and vision, as well as serving a period as interim Chair; and <br />WHEREAS, Gary Saunders's expertise and advice in the areas of air quality <br />management and public transportation were critical to the Commission's <br />work and recommendations as embodied in the 2014 State of the <br />Environment report, and in many other reports to the Orange County Board <br />of Commissioners, and his influence will continue to be seen in future such <br />initiatives; and <br />WHEREAS, Gary Saunders's contributions as CFE liaison to the Orange <br />Unified Transportation Board will benefit the citizens of Orange County who <br />will navigate its roadways and use alternative modes of transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, Gary Saunders illustrates and exemplifies the commitment of <br />Orange County citizens toward issues regarding the protection of our natural <br />resources by his willingness to devote time to the efforts of this commission, <br />in addition to his other work in protecting North Carolina's air quality: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Commission for the <br />Environment thanks Gary Saunders for his six years of service on the <br />Commission, invites him to offer thoughts and insights to the group in the <br />future as he desires, and wishes him well in his future endeavors. <br />This, the 8th day of February, 2016. <br />Lydia Wegman, Chair <br />Orange County Commission for the Environment <br />
