Affordable Housing Advisory Board <br />Minutes of October 9, 2012 <br />Members Present: Jonzella Bailey- Pridham, Patsy Barbee, Diane Beecham, Katherine Doom, <br />Dee Jackola, Arthur Sprinczeles <br />Members Absent: Nannie Richmond, James Stroud <br />Staff Present: Tara L. Fikes, Roxanna Warren <br />Guest: Christopher Wehrman <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />Patsy Barbee welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br />Public Comments <br />None <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Katherine Doom made a motion to approve the minutes of September 11, 2012 meeting and <br />Arthur Sprinczeles seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />Habitat for Humanity — Rusch Hollow Bond Proiect <br />Tara Fikes stated that she spoke with Susan Levy, Director of Habitat for Humanity to discuss <br />whether there had been consideration of universal design features in the proposed duplex <br />construction in the Rusch Hollow subdivision. She confirmed that the units would have <br />doorways and hallways that would increase accessibility. And, Habitat is interested in using all <br />of the remaining $144,304 Housing Bond Funds to complete this project. <br />Arthur Sprinczeles made a motion to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners <br />(BOCC) the award of $144,304 to Habitat for Humanity for the Rusch Hollow Duplex. Diane <br />Beecham seconded the motion. The motion was approve unanimously. <br />Eno Haven Apartments <br />As follow -up, Fikes distributed and briefly discussed the eligibility process for Eno Haven <br />Apartments to include an explanation of income targeting. This information is incorporated as <br />an attachment to the minutes. <br />Annual Calendar <br />Fikes provided a handout with 2013 Housing Calendar topics for discussion and agreement. An <br />effort will be made to get the calendar completed for distribution in December 2013. The board <br />was asked to provide other items for the calendar at the next meeting. The members also agreed <br />to take a group picture for the calendar at the November meeting. The handout is incorporated as <br />an attachment to these minutes. <br />Department Report <br />Tara Fikes provided the following information: <br />• A copy of the Orange County Boards and Commissions Input for County <br />Commissioners' Annual Planning Retreat form from last year was distributed to board <br />members. This year's input is due in mid - November so the Board will need to prepare <br />that report at the next meeting. <br />• Fikes distributed copies of the Affordable Housing Advisory Board Policies and <br />Procedures and the Orange County Board of County Commissioners Advisory Board <br />Policy to the all Board members. These policies will replace the bylaws. This <br />information is incorporated as an attachment to the minutes. <br />
