budgeted $75,000 for repairs under this program which we also received $100,000 in <br />Community Development Block Grant funds for this program in 2010. <br />The Urgent Repair Program alleviates housing conditions which pose an imminent threat to the <br />life and safety of very low and low- income homeowners with special needs; and provides <br />accessibility modifications and other repairs necessary to prevent displacement of very low and <br />low- income homeowners with special needs such as frail elderly and persons with disabilities. <br />Board members were asked to help spread the word about the program particularly to those that <br />may qualify. Additionally, Saconn also discussed the need for qualified rehabilitation <br />contractors to work in the program. The application for them is available on the county's <br />website. <br />Board Membership <br />James Stroud made a motion to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) the <br />appointment of Teri Driscoll, Dee Jackola, Andrew Shannon and Christopher Wehrman to the <br />Affordable Housing Advisory Board. Katherine Doom seconded the motion. The motion was <br />approved unanimously. <br />Department Report <br />The 6th Annual Project Connect Orange County will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012; <br />9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hargraves Community Center, Chapel Hill. Project Connect is a <br />free event that links people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness to essential <br />services. <br />Other Business <br />Nannie Richmond inquired about the eligibility process for Eno Haven Apartments.
