Department Report
The following items were reported:
• Fikes distributed and briefly discussed the housing goals and strategies of the Department
on Aging 2012 -2017 Master Aging Plan. This information is incorporated as an
attachment to the minutes.
• The Advisory Board agreed to have a table to distribute material at the Hog Day Event on
Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 9:00 am — 6:00 pm. Arthur Sprinczeles volunteered to
make arrangements for renting a booth for the event. Katherine Doom and Patsy Barbee
volunteered to work on that day.
Other Business
James Stroud stated that he met with Susan Levy, Director of Habitat for Humanity to receive
clarification regarding A Brush for Kindness. This program is a locally- operated program serving
low- income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. Recipients are
responsible for as little as 10% of the cost of repair based on the individual's income.
Rashii Purefoy made a motion to adjourn the meeting and James Stroud seconded the motion.
The motion was approved unanimously.
Respectfully submitted:
Roxanne W. Reynolds
2
