Affordable Housing Advisory Board <br />Minutes of Tuesday, June 10, 2014 <br />Members Present: James Stroud, Diane Beecham, Arthur Sprinczeles, Nannie Richmond, <br />Jonzella Bailey - Pridham, Andrew Shannon, and Patsy Barbee <br />Members Absent: Vanessa Soleil, Sully Jaffer, and Tammy Jacobs <br />Staff Present: James Davis and Crystal Coble <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />Chair Pasty Barbee called the meeting to order. Introductions were done for the benefit of <br />members that had not met the Interim Director of HHRCD, James Davis. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Diane Beecham made a motion to approve the minutes for March 11, 2014 and Nannie <br />Richmond seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />James Stroud made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2014 meeting and Diane <br />Beecham seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />Diane Beecham made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2014 meeting and James <br />Stroud seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />Department Report /County Report <br />James Stroud circulated a Draft Proposal of the Orange County Clearinghouse Network. The <br />proposal is attached to these minutes. James explained that $75,000.00 was the amount of funds <br />being requested from the county. James also shared that Community Empowerment Fund and <br />Affordable Coalition have partnered with the Clearing House Network. James shared his <br />thoughts that a member of the AHAB board should prepare something to share with the BOCC <br />to explain why the Clearing Housing Network is needed. Jonzella volunteered to speak at the <br />meeting with the AHAB's recommendation. Andrew Shannon, James Stroud, Jonzella Pridham, <br />and Aurthur Sprinczeles agreed to work together and create Jonzella's speech. <br />James Davis discussed the need to develop more efficient ways to reach out and obtain new <br />landlords and new AHAB members. A suggestion was running an ad in the News and Observer. <br />The need to start the process of voting in new the Chair and the Vice Chair for the AHAB was <br />mentioned and postponed to be reviewed at the August 12, 2014 meeting. <br />Other Business <br />The next meeting will be in Chapel Hill at 2508 Homestead Road in Conference Room D. <br />Jonzella made a motion to adjourn and Arthur seconded the motion.
