Approved November 3, 2016 <br />Pending Matters <br />3 <br />• SWAG Priorities Update <br />• Wilson suggests assigning Town Public Works and Solid Waste Directors with establishing a plan <br />for development of Local Waste Disposal Facility <br />■ Staff notes that $100,000 has been budgeted in FY 2016/17 for transfer station planning <br />• Jacobs requests that costs are assigned to Priorities List and Agenda Items added in the future <br />• Rich requests adding Alternative Waste Disposal Methods as Priority XIV <br />• County Waste Reduction Goal Setting <br />0 61% Waste Reduction has been achieved, new goal is needed <br />o Jacobs requests the staff discuss what goal would be reasonable, both overall and incrementally, <br />before AOG <br />Updates /Status Reports <br />• Fourth Quarter FY 2015/16 Solid Waste Program Data Report <br />o Data collection will be refined. RFID tags and readers efficiency will be improved <br />• Status of Rural Curbside Expansion <br />o Cart delivery was completed in August <br />o Collection schedule for approximately 700 residents in Urban area have changed <br />• Status of Eubanks Road Waste & Recycling Facilities Improvements <br />o Bids are due next month <br />o $3.17 million is the budget, including moving the scales <br />• Update on Carrboro Farmers Market Food Waste Collection <br />o Lavelle requests statistics emailed to Carrboro staff <br />• UNC /County Solid Waste Collaboration Report <br />o Report is going through internal review, some potential for future collaboration is <br />possible <br />• Update on Storm Debris Management Site Search <br />o The possible site on Mincey Road currently has constraining conservation easement. Request <br />had been made for agreement to be formally amended so that in a declared emergency, area <br />can be used as a temporary emergency storm debris site <br />• Waste Composition Study Update <br />o Waste sorts scheduled for October 2016 and April 2017 <br />Public Comment -None <br />Next Meeting- Next meeting date to be surveyed in September <br />• Will discuss how financial study should be presented at the AOG <br />Meeting adjourned at: 8:35pm <br />Name of Minute Taker: Jennie Knowlton <br />
