ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: September 19, 2006 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 9- j~- <br />SUBJECT• New Hope Park at Blackwood Farm- Appointments <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover <br />Membership Roster <br />Recommendation Letter <br />Interest List <br />Application(s)/Resume(s) of Person(s) on the <br />Interest List <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clerk's Office, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To consider making new appointments to the New Hope Park at Blackwood Farm <br />Taskforce. <br />BACKGROUND: On March 21, the Board approved a process for beginning master planning of a <br />152-acre property acquired in late-2001 for a future park site. This property, given the working title of <br />New Hope Park of Blackwood Farm, is adjacent to New Hope Church Road and NC 86, The Master <br />Plan is expected to be completed by January 31, 2007. <br />Initial appointments to this taskforce were made on May 16, 2006. This item is being brought back to <br />the Commissioners for approval of additional appointments. <br />Mark Smith, who is currently the Commission for the Environment representative to the New Hope Park <br />at Blackwood Farm Taskforce, will be unable to serve. Bill Kaiser, another Commission for the <br />Environment member is willing to serve. <br />Also, the Economic Development Commission is recommending Anne Loeb to serve as its <br />representative to the taskforce. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making new appointments to the New Hope Park at Blackwood <br />Farm Taskforce. <br />
