❖ Chad Gentry — 68- 2015 -005: Long Term No Till; 68.25 acres totaling $10,238. (CS <br />Funds) McAdams moved to approve, Parker responded. <br />❖ 68- 2014 -010 — Cedar Grove Farm: G. Hughes stated that all work has been <br />completed on stock trail, seeding, fencing and water tanks. Original contract amount <br />was $8,987. Contract modified to eliminate majority of concrete. Request for <br />payment (RFP) based on final measurements /cost. RFP approximately $8,500; will <br />have final number available at next board meeting. Parker moved to approve $8,500; <br />McAdams seconded. <br />Certified letters for non - compliance issues were mailed to two landowners; Contract 68- <br />2017-15-09 and 68- 2006- 24 -09. These landowners have 30 days to refund program <br />funds. <br />Community Conservation Assistance Program (CLAP) <br />G. Hughes discussed the following request for payment: <br />➢ 2015 — 504 Stanley Hughes: Well Closure totaling $750. <br />McAdams moved to approve; Parker seconded. <br />Educational Update <br />Conservation Education Training: Due to conflicts, staff members were unable to <br />attend this year's workshop in Hickory. <br />Hughes and Pope presented educational programs (age K -12) for approximately 100 local <br />Girl Scouts at summer camp held at the O.C.Blackwood Farm on July 9th. <br />Hughes and Pope presented educational programs for 25+ 4 -H Summer Sizzle students at <br />A.L. Stanback Middle School on July 22' <br />Food, Land & People Teacher's Workshop: Lisa served as co- facilitator at FLP <br />Teacher's Workshop in Cabarrus County on August 6th. Fifteen local teachers attended. <br />Pope will receive teaching credit hours towards her NCEE certification. She expressed <br />her gratitude to the Board for this opportunity. <br />Hughes expressed her gratitude to the Board for the opportunity to attend national Soil & <br />Water Society Meeting in Greensboro on August 9 -12. Hughes stated that it was a great <br />week of learning experiences. <br />Budget <br />Lisa provided the Board with current account balances. Hughes discussed the Matching <br />Grant Fund Account. Funds that will be rolled over is $2,890.78. These funds will be a <br />budget adjustment made in September or October by the Finance Department. <br />With no further discussion, meeting adjourned. <br />By: W. Chris Hogan, Chairman <br />
