Introductions <br />The members and staff introduced themselves to guest and board candidate, Antonia Pedroza. <br />III. Minutes Approval <br />Gerald made a motion to approve the August 2014 minutes. The motion was seconded by <br />Christine and carried unanimously. <br />IV. County Updates <br />James informed the body that the County does permit the use of social media, to include <br />Facebook. There is a social media use policy. James further stated that a member can be <br />designated to post information on Facebook The members recommended that the person voted <br />to be the secretary should take on the responsibility of adding information on the County's HRC <br />Facebook page. <br />James reminded the body that the BOCC is expecting an update on the HRC's activities, <br />specifically with regard to gender equity, later this fall. In addition, he announced that he was <br />interviewed on WCHL to discuss the upcoming events on gender equity, including the <br />Community Read and the Human Relations Month Forum. This interview took place on <br />Tuesday, August 261' which is Women's Equality Day. <br />James announced that the department now has Karen - Language fair housing posters.
