Affordable Housing Advisory Board <br />2501 Homestead Road Chapel Hill, NC 27514 <br />Tuesday, April 12, 2016 <br />Minutes <br />Members Present: Patsy Barbie, Chair; Arthur Sprinczeles, Vice Chair; Diane Beecham, Noah <br />Oswald; Nannie Richmond; Brika Eklund; Tammy Jacobs and Daniel Bullock <br />Excused Absence: Jason O' Quinn and Eleanor Kinnaird <br />Unexcused Absence: Traci Wooten and Kolby Herndon <br />Visitors: Elizabeth (preferred first name). <br />Staff Present: Audrey Spencer - Horsley, Director; and Crystal Coble, Administrative Assistant <br />Welcome /Introduction <br />Pasty Barbie, the AHAB Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:07pm. AHAB members and <br />visitors introduced themselves. <br />Department Report /County Report <br />February 9, 2016 Work Session review <br />No father updates and the Orange County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) did not ask for any <br />additional information. Commissioner Renee Price asked to attend the AHAB bus tour. <br />Gateway <br />Legal services, health department, and housing department met and established committees to <br />address various concerns in Gateway. AHAB members wanted to know what type of affordable housing <br />property it was. Audrey Spencer - Horsley informed them that it was an older tax credit or 236 property <br />and that she would find out when their compliance period expires and any other pertinent financial <br />information she could. <br />Fairview <br />Audrey Spencer Horsley informed the AHAB that all HCV tenants had moved to permanent <br />housing. Audrey said that the home owner informed her that she has allowed one family to stay until the <br />child finishes school in June. Audrey Spencer Horsley shared that one tenant has to get assistance <br />removing his remaining belongings and Audrey will contact Community Empowerment Fund to see if <br />they could help. <br />Fall Bond Referendum for Schools and Affordable Housing <br />Audrey explained that the housing education committee planned for the fall Bond Referendum <br />includes a seat for an AHAB member. Diane Beecham inquired about the expectations /intentions of the <br />committee and members. Audrey Spencer - Horsley explained that the BOCC identified the members of <br />the education committee and that typically the committee provides information about the purpose and <br />
