Visitation Reports <br />• Carillon (6/2/16) — approved <br />• Villines (3/31/16, amended version) — reviewed, previously approved <br />• Villines (6/2/16) — approved <br />• Brookdale- Meadowmont (7/14/16) - approved <br />• Carol Woods (7/13/16) — approved <br />It is recommended that team leaders now email the dates of upcoming facility visits so other <br />members can join if they wish, and thereby increase their exposure to the various facilities in our <br />area. <br />Family Care Home Assignments <br />*Visitations and Reports must be complete by next Committee Meeting. <br />• Cedar Grove: Jack, Yvonne, Debbie R., Will <br />• Livewell: Max, James, Beverly, Cresha <br />• Livewell at Coker Hills: Suzanne, Gloria, Deborah S. <br />• Charles House — Yorktown: Max, James, Beverly, Cresha <br />• Charles House — Winmore: Suzanne, Gloria, Deborah S. <br />Report from the Department on Aging, Mary Fraser <br />The Department on Aging is working on developing their next 5 -year Master Aging Plan (MAP). <br />Phase One: Mary has sent us a link to an electronic survey which attempts to measure <br />citizens' aging concerns. She encouraged us to forward to other groups as well. <br />Phase Two: A series of focus groups will be taking place, throughout the county, <br />tomorrow (at Mapleview Dairy's Agricultural /Education Center) through August 11tH <br />Mary encourages us to attend since it will be an excellent way to share our concerns <br />about LTC issues. She will email us the schedule for the focus groups. <br />Phase Three: On Oct 26th in Chapel Hill, and on October 28th in Hillsborough, survey <br />results and focus group information will be shared, where they will solicit more feedback <br />to assist with prioritizing the goals. <br />Dementia - Friendly Community update — Orange County Departments have been mandated to <br />do this as well as the Town of Chapel Hill, including bus drivers. In the public sector and private <br />business community, 30 have been trained plus 12 scheduled. 50% of their public- facing <br />employees go through the training. Promote this as you are able. <br />Other Items of Note <br />Max will reach out to Charlie Williams, the Adult Home Specialist at Orange County DSS. <br />Next meeting Sept 151H <br />Adjournment <br />Upon completion of its business, the Committee voted to adjourn at 5:05 p. m. <br />Minutes submitted by Deborah Stewart, Secretary. <br />
