Carmelita will keep us apprised of the changes <br />and any concerns that may develop. <br />Report from the Department on Aging, Mary Fraser <br />The Direct Care Worker award ceremony will take place 4:30- 6:OOpm on May 26th in the <br />Ballroom at the Passmore Center so family and friends can attend. There were 42 nominees (27 <br />last year). Three graduates from Project Engage selected the winners in Five categories: Client <br />impact, Going the extra mile, Leadership, Longevity, and Rising Star. There will also be an overall <br />"Direct Caregiver of the Year." This is a nice opportunity to reward persons that perform this <br />special work. <br />There will be a presentation with a focus on Long -Term Care that shows a documentary <br />highlighting other LTC options from Thailand and the Netherlands. The goal is to discuss the <br />LTC options here and elsewhere? <br />Other Community Updates, Yvonne Mendenhall <br />Yvonne is liaison to the Advisory Board on Aging. She spoke about the Orange County Long - <br />Term Care Collaborative that has been working on an initiative called the "The Comfort Zone" <br />which focuses on palliative care. Seven LTC providers are participating and sharing ideas with <br />one another in an effort to enhance the well -being of their clients /residents. <br />Yvette Missri will begin recruiting friendly visitors for residents in our facilities. <br />New Resolution Proposed, Jack Vogt <br />Jack submitted updated version of "Committee Resolution on Voting by Residents in Assisted <br />Living Facilities and Adult Care Homes in Orange County." The resolution passed unanimously. <br />This will be distributed to us via email for disbursement to our facilities. Jack plans to share this <br />with the Nursing Home CAC for them to adapt and use for their own purposes as they see fit. <br />Visitation Reports <br />• Crescent Green (5/13/16) — approved <br />• The Stratford (5/13/16) — approved <br />• Brookdale at Meadowmont (5/12/16) — approved <br />• Carol Woods (5/12/16) — approved <br />• Carillon (3/31/16) — approved <br />• Villines (3/31/16) — approved with edits recommended. Deb will email to committee for <br />final review. <br />Other Items of Note <br />Committee approved Max's motion to forward two recommendations for appointment to the <br />committee. <br />Adjournment <br />Upon completion of its business, the Committee voted to adjourn at 5:15 p. m. <br />Minutes submitted by Deborah Stewart, Secretary. <br />
