Report of the Chair (Williams Reid) <br />No report by the chair. <br /> IV. New Business <br /> a. Carrboro R&P Commission / Twin Creek Update <br />Stancil attended Carrboro’s Parks & Recreation Council <br />Meeting, mainly to discuss Twin Creeks near Morris Grove <br />Elem School. Currently there is a Phase I of the park – a <br />paved greenway trail that goes from the school to the <br />neighborhood to the south. Carrboro has shown interest in <br />moving up the work on this park, and in particular may be <br />sending a letter re interest in a bicycle “pump track.” <br />b. Letter to Board of Commissioners re Funding (Attachment 1) <br />Rhodes and Reid-Williams penned a draft letter which was <br />shared that would go to the BOCC to consider parks and <br />recreation needs in the upcoming budget. Bench <br />recommended that the letter address Orange County and not <br />any town within it. Revisions will be made, after which time <br />the letter will be revisited for action in November. <br />c. Consultant Review of Dedication/Payment in Lieu <br />(Attachment 2 - PRC Priority #3) <br />Stancil noted that this is one of the possible PRC priority <br />items from previous meeting. The Council may choose to <br />engage on this or select another priority. Standards for Land <br />Dedication and payment in Lieu are planned to be revisited <br />by a consultant in the next several months, as they are now
