Beginning time of meeting: 6:30pm <br /> <br />II. Meeting Summary (5/4) No comments on the May notes. No additions to the agenda. <br /> <br />III. Report of the Chair (Williams Reid) <br />a. New Appointment-Bob Smith. Robert Smith, who goes by “Bob,” was recently <br />appointed to the PRC by the BOCC. He is unable to be here today as he is <br />coaching a soccer game at the moment. <br /> <br />IV. New Business <br />a. Sportsplex – Overview and Expansion Plans (John Stock). Stock provided a <br />presentation on Sportsplex, including activities and programs, financial <br />information and plans for the future. Since taking over in 2009, Recreation <br />Factory Partners, the management group headed by Stock that is contracted to <br />operate the Sportsplex on behalf of the County, has made a profit each year. Plans <br />are now underway to add an indoor soccer/lacrosse/ basketball field house to <br />expand facility offerings. These facilities are in the County’s Capital Investment <br />Plan (CIP). In response to a question, Sportsplex doesn’t plan on raising <br />membership fees. <br />b. Soccer.com Center News. The Board of Commissioners is set to approve <br />acquiring land to add 37 acres adjoining the Soccer.com Center on West Ten <br />Road. This will allow for the expansion of more fields, additional parking and <br />restrooms, and storm water control. Terms have been negotiated and a contract <br />signed, now just waiting for BOCC approval. The CIP includes funding for <br />expansion of the complex in about three years, and this may include potential for <br />artificial turf fields. <br /> <br />V. Old Business
