New Appointment-Bob Smith. Robert Smith, who goes by “Bob,” was recently
appointed to the PRC by the BOCC. He is unable to be here today as he is
coaching a soccer game at the moment.

IV. New Business
a. Sportsplex – Overview and Expansion Plans (John Stock). Stock provided a
presentation on Sportsplex, including activities and programs, financial
information and plans for the future. Since taking over in 2009, Recreation
Factory Partners, the management group headed by Stock that is contracted to
operate the Sportsplex on behalf of the County, has made a profit each year. Plans
are now underway to add an indoor soccer/lacrosse/ basketball field house to
expand facility offerings. These facilities are in the County’s Capital Investment
Plan (CIP). In response to a question, Sportsplex doesn’t plan on raising
membership fees.
b. Soccer.com Center News. The Board of Commissioners is set to approve
acquiring land to add 37 acres adjoining the Soccer.com Center on West Ten
Road. This will allow for the expansion of more fields, additional parking and
restrooms, and storm water control. Terms have been negotiated and a contract
signed, now just waiting for BOCC approval. The CIP includes funding for
expansion of the complex in about three years, and this may include potential for
artificial turf fields.

V. Old Business
