VI. Report of the Director <br />Updates on Various Projects and Facilities: <br />a. The MST “next steps” memo has gone to the BOCC. <br />b. Fairview Park, which includes the old Town landfill, is being studied for possible <br />future expansion. DEAPR has contracted out with a consulting firm to see what is in <br />the ground and its implications. <br />c. This week, Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation reached out to Stancil to say they may <br />be ready to begin developing a Master Park Plan for the Millhouse Road Park site. <br /> <br /> <br />VII. Council and Committee Reports <br />a. Intergovernmental Parks Work Group. There was a meeting on October 11. Daniel, the <br />PRC representative to the group, reported on the meeting. The main focus was about <br />the Aging Plan that was presented. An emphasis was on collaboration with Recreation <br />departments. <br />b. Items from the Council: none. <br />c. Friends of Orange County Parks and Recreation (FOPR) - Robinson pointed out that <br />they still need $400. Discussion took place around how to get this going. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:20. Next meeting will be December 6, 6:30pm (EAC conference <br />room.) Bring some holiday treats if you’d like. <br />
