Call to Order. Introductions were made. <br /> <br /> <br />II. Additions or Changes to Agenda, Meeting Summary: The October summary will be <br />reviewed next month. The Agenda was reviewed. There were no additions to the <br />agenda. <br />III. Report of the Chair: <br />a. Meet Up walking group is forming. Trying to get an Orange County Parks/trails <br />walking group. The first group will walk at 3pm this coming Sunday, November 5 <br />at Blackwood Farm Park. So far, 17 are set to walk. <br /> <br />IV. New Business <br />a. Annual Recreation and Athletics Review (Chris Sousa and Recreation Division) Staff <br />were first introduced. <br />The Recreation and Athletics Division gave a PowerPoint presentation about their <br />services and report of the last fiscal year. The three services are Recreation <br />Programs, Athletics, Camps and Special Events. A handout of the presentation was <br />supplied to each of the board members. <br /> <br />To begin, the division mission statement was given, and then an organizational chart <br />was displayed. Sousa included revenues and expenditures for the programs. Barnes <br />described the major function, structure, challenges, and future vision of the <br />programs. Sousa spoke about Facilities and Concessions. Facilities include the <br />Central Recreation Center; Soccer.com; Efland-Cheeks Community Center and <br />Park; Cedar Grove Community Center and Park; and Fairview Park. Loovis asked if <br />the County is in compliance related to medical staff not onsite at athletic functions. <br />Stancil noted that he is pretty sure there is not a legal compliance rule related to this <br />for local recreation teams and games. Loovis asked if the staff can look into a legal <br />counsel review of the medical help needed during our athletic programs. Sousa said <br />he would look into it. <br /> <br />V.
