Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes the following manufactured roof specialties: <br />1. Copings. <br />2. Counterflashings and reglets. <br />B. Related Sections include the following: <br />1. Division 4 Section "Unit Masonry Assemblies" for installing reglets. <br />2. Division 5 Section "Architectural Joint Systems" for manufactured sheet metal <br />expansion joint covers. <br />3. Division 6 Section "Miscellaneous Carpentry" for wood nailers, curbs, and blocking. <br />4. Division 7 Section "Roof Expansion Assemblies" for manufactured roof expansion joint <br />cover assemblies. <br />5. Division 7 Section "Joint Sealants" for field- applied sealants. <br />1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. General: Manufacture and install manufactured roof specialties to resist thermally induced <br />movement and exposure to weather without failing, rattling, leaking, and fastener <br />disengagement. <br />B. FMG Listing: Manufacture and install copings and roof edge flashings that are listed in FMG's <br />"Approval Guide" and approved for Windstorm Classification, Class 1 -90. Identify materials <br />with FMG markings. <br />C. Manufacture and install copings and roof edge flashings tested according to SPRI ES -1 and <br />capable of resisting the following design pressures: <br />1. Design Pressure: 70 lbf /sq. ft. (3.35 kN /sq. m) <br />D. Thermal Movements: Provide manufactured roof specialties that allow for thermal movements <br />resulting from the following maximum change (range) in ambient and surface temperatures by <br />preventing buckling, opening of joints, hole elongation, overstressing of components, failure of <br />joint sealants, failure of connections, and other detrimental effects.
