Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />2. SUMMARY <br />a. This Section includes the following: <br />1). Exterior non -load- bearing wall framing. <br />b. Related Sections include the following: <br />1). Division 5 Section "Metal Fabrications" for masonry shelf angles and connections. <br />2). Division 9 Section "Gypsum Board Assemblies" for interior non -load- bearing, metal -stud <br />framing and ceiling- suspension assemblies. <br />PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />a. Structural Performance: Provide cold - formed metal framing capable of withstanding design <br />loads within limits and under conditions indicated. <br />1). Design Loads: Design framing systems to withstand design loads calculated in <br />accordance with ASCE 7 -05 using the following parameters: <br />a). Design Wind Speed: 90 mph. <br />b). Exposure Category: C <br />c). Importance Factor: 1.00. <br />2). Deflection Limits: Design framing systems to withstand design loads without deflections <br />greater than the following: <br />a). Exterior Non - Load - Bearing Framing providing back -up for brick: Horizontal <br />deflection of 1/600 of the wall height. <br />b). Exterior Non - Load - Bearing Framing providing back up for metal panels: <br />Horizontal deflection of 1/240 of the wall height. <br />3).
