PASSMORE CENTER ADDITION AND RENOVATION <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 FORM - FACING MATERIALS <br />A. Smooth - Formed Finished Concrete: Form- facing panels that will provide continuous, true, and <br />smooth concrete surfaces. Furnish in largest practicable sizes to minimize number of joints. <br />1. Plywood, metal, or other approved panel materials. <br />2. Exterior -grade plywood panels, suitable for concrete forms, complying with DOC PSI, and as <br />follows: <br />a. B -B (Concrete Form), Class 1, or better, mill oiled and edge sealed. <br />B. Rough- Formed Finished Concrete: Plywood, lumber, metal, or another approved material. Provide <br />lumber dressed on at least two edges and one side for tight fit. <br />C. Form- Release Agent: Commercially formulated form- release agent that will not bond with, stain, or <br />adversely affect concrete surfaces and will not impair subsequent treatments of concrete surfaces. <br />1. Formulate form- release agent with rust inhibitor for steel form- facing materials. <br />D. Form Ties: Factory- fabricated, removable or snap -off metal or glass - fiber- reinforced plastic form <br />ties designed to resist lateral pressure of fresh concrete on forms and to prevent spalling of concrete <br />on removal. <br />E. Chamfer Strips: Wood, metal, PVC, or rubber strips, 3/4 by 3/4 inch, minimum. <br />2.2 STEEL REINFORCEMENT <br />A. Reinforcing Bars: ASTM A 615 /A 615M, Grade 60, deformed. <br />B. Reinforcing Accessories: <br />1. Tie wire: Black annealed type, 16 1/2 gage or heavier. <br />2. Supports: Bar supports conforming to specifications of CRSI "Manual of Standard Practice ". <br />a. Class 1 (plastic protected) at all formed surfaces which will be exposed to weather. <br />b. Class 1 (plastic protected) or Class 2 (stainless steel protected) at all formed surfaces which <br />will be exposed to view but not to weather. <br />c. Precast concrete blocks of strength equal to or greater than specified strength of concrete or <br />Class 3 supports equipped with sand plates, where concrete will be cast against earth. <br />Concrete masonry units will not be accepted. <br />A. Self- Expanding Strip Waterstops: Manufactured rectangular or trapezoidal strip, sodium bentonite <br />or other hydrophylic material for adhesive bonding to concrete. <br />1. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, products that may be <br />incorporated into the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />a.
