Passmore Center Addition and Renovation, 103 Meadowlands <br />Drive, Hillsborough, NC. <br />Pre -Bid Meeting <br />An open Pre -Bid Meeting will be held for all interested bidders and vendors on Friday, <br />November 17, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Third Floor Conference Room of the Orange County Office <br />Building, 131 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina. The meeting will address <br />project scope and description, answer specific questions and issues and bidding procedures and <br />forms including MBE forms. <br />Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be available from CRA Associates, <br />Inc. after November 8, 2017. The documents shall be distributed electronically only by emailing <br />complete contact information to David Taylor, project architect, at dtaylor(a�cra- ae.com. <br />All contractors are hereby notified that they must have a proper license as required under the NC <br />state laws governing their respective trades. <br />NOTE: The bidder shall identify on its bid proposal the minority business participation it will <br />use on the project (Identification of HUB Certified/ Minority Business Participation) form and <br />shall include either Affidavit A or Affidavit B as applicable. Forms and instructions are included <br />within the Form of Proposal in the bid documents. Failure to complete these forms is grounds <br />for rejection of the bid. <br />General contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, <br />will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting <br />bids on this project must have license classification for unlimited commercial construction. <br />NOTE: Under GS 87 -1 and GC Board Rule 21 NCAC 12.02 10, a contractor that <br />superintends or manages construction of any building, highway, public utility, grading, <br />structure or improvement shall be deemed a "general contractor" and shall be so <br />licensed. Therefore a single prime project that involves other trades will require the <br />single prime contractor to hold a proper General Contractors license. EXCEPT, in <br />public building projects when the total general construction value does not exceed 25% <br />of the total project contracts, then another trade (P,M,or E) may contract directly with <br />the owner as a single prime and subcontract other trade work, including general <br />construction, to properly licensed contractors. <br />NTB -1 <br />
