ASAB Approved Minutes— <br />May 17 th , 2006, Meeting <br />Page 3 <br />appropriate staff from the Orange County Health Department and Animal Services Department <br />assist in the adoption of policies or guidelines regarding animals in schools.” A motion was made <br />to approve this recommendation by Daniel Textoris and seconded by Bonnie Norwood. VOTE: <br />Unanimous. <br />Staff Initiatives and Activities: Animal Control Manager Irene Paul presented and reviewed the <br />rough draft of the Animal Control Division public education and outreach brochure. After initial <br />discussion, Chair Tracy Carroll asked that any comments or changes be forwarded to Irene Paul <br />for a final version of the brochure that would be presented for review and approval at the June <br />ASAB meeting. <br />Also, Program and Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Fallin gave an overview of her most recent <br />visits to the county schools introducing the Animal Services Department. She described the <br />curriculum for this very successful program. She also indicated that she is working on planning <br />next year program and that it is expected to Carrboro and Chapel Hill as well as Orange County <br />schools. <br />Review of Select Department Updates: Robert Marotto, Director, Animal Services <br />Department, presented select department updates in a memorandum dated May17th, <br />2006. <br />Motion was made by James Kramer and seconded by Daniel Textoris to adjourn meeting at 8:45 <br />p.m. Vote: Unanimous. <br />Next ASAB Meeting: Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. in the Government Services Center <br />Meeting Room at 200 Cameron St. in Hillsborough.
