<br /> <br />ASAB September 15, 2010 Meeting <br />“Approved Summary” <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Motion was made by Kris Bergstrand and seconded by Jean Austin to invite applicants to the <br />October 20, 2010 and November 17, 2010 meetings who currently have applications on file with <br />the Clerks office for vacant ASAB positions. This will give applicants the opportunity to <br />introduce themselves, ask questions to the board members and learn about the board’s mission <br />and purpose. <br /> <br />Daniel Textoris and Suzanne Roy will provide a Slate of Officers for 2011 at the next ASAB <br />meeting scheduled for October 20, 2010. The proposed slate will be Kris Bergstrand for Chair <br />and Jean Austin for Vice-Chair. <br /> <br />Chair, Jean Austin reported that the Agricultural Preservation Board has requested to have <br />more interaction with the ASAB board. Bob Marotto, Jean Austin and David Stancil have met <br />and one question the APB has is whether or not issues in the ordinance regarding farm animals <br />have been vetted. The ASAB will communicate with them the review process that took place at <br />previous meetings this year and how board members came to the decision that was made. <br /> <br />Mr. Marotto reported that the bequest arrived from the Rosaille William Estate in Chapel Hill, <br />these funds will be used for a monument at the entry of the Animal Services Center where there is <br />currently a vinyl sign. In addition some of the funds will be used for the get acquainted rooms on <br />the adoption side of the facility. <br /> <br />Mr. Marotto reported that Shelter Manager Jess Allison has been contacting rescue groups <br />regarding the new agreement that will go into effect the first part of 2011. So far she has <br />received positive feedback. <br /> <br />Board members were provided with July and August monthly and program reports. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Jean Austin and seconded by Tracy Carroll to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 <br />p.m. VOTE: Unanimous <br /> <br />Next ASAB Meeting: Wednesday, October 20, 2010 6:30 p.m-8:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose <br />Conference Room of the new Animal Services Center, 1601 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
