2 <br /> <br />(B) Research Requests <br />• In light of recent request to participate in veterinary research regarding a common <br />illness in sheltered kittens for which OCAS had no prior protocol and therefore declined, <br />the ASAB discussed the merits of creating a protocol for potential future opportunities <br />to contribute to research aiding animal welfare that would involve transfer of biological <br />samples. <br />• Based on the discussion, a subcommittee was formed to consider and draft a list of <br />criteria for reviewing such projects.
